Oocyte cryopreservation via virtification (ultra fast freezing)

It is a well-known fact that semen can be subject to cryopreservation and later preserved at ultra low temperatures (-196 oC) in liquid nitrogen. However, for a very long time the attempts to do the same to oocytes ended in failure, because they never survived the process of freezing.

Fortunately, a few years ago a technology allowing to freeze oocytes without harming them was developed. This technology was studied and later implemented in our clinic. By using this technology, we managed to create the largest oocyte cryobank in Russia. Among many other advantages, the use of cryopreserved donor oocytes in IVF programs makes synchronizing menstrual cycles of the donor and the patient much easier.

This method of diagnosis helps pick out defected sperm with abnormalities which lead to DNA restructuring and consequently to unsuccessful in-vitro fertilization. Use of this method resulted in drastic increase of pregnancy rates in cases of sever male infertility.

Embryo culture at a reduced oxygen concentration

Numerous studies have proved that the use of this method of embryo culture achieves higher IVF success rates. However, this method requires a very expensive nitrogen system and specialized incubators.
